In 1999, Yoshitaka Tanaka joined Tohmatsu Consulting, now known as Deloitte Tohmatsu Consulting. From 2006 to 2011, he was stationed in Germany, where he was involved in consulting for Japanese companies in Europe. Upon his return, he then consulted for the automotive industry. After serving as Automotive Unit Lead from 2013 to 2019, Tanaka started a new division, the Core Business Operations Division, to handle cross-industry consulting focusing on mobility and smart cities, serving as its head until March 2024. He was also appointed to management as a Board Member and Chief Strategy Officer from 2020 to 2022 and as Chief Transformation Officer from 2022 to 2023. In April 2024, Tanaka moved to Kamiyama Marugoto Kosen, a school he had been involved with for several years since his time at Deloitte, assuming the role of Director, overseeing Partner relations and Dormitory management.
