Goodwin is the Founder and Managing Principal of Gaw Capital Partners, a uniquely positioned real estate private equity fund management company focusing on markets in Asia Pacific region and other high barrier to entry markets globally. Gaw Capital has raised seven commingled funds targeting the APAC regions as its flagship fund series since 2005. The firm also manages value-add/opportunistic funds in the US, a Pan-Asia hospitality fund, a European hospitality fund, a Growth Equity fund, and provides services for credit investments and separate account direct investments globally. Gaw Capital Partners has raised equity in excess of US$22.9 billion as of Q3 2024 and currently commands assets of over US$35.8 billion under management encompassing residential developments, offices, retail, serviced apartments, hotels, logistics properties, life science parks and IDC projects.
Goodwin received “Asia Industry Figure of the Year” in 2013, 2015 and 2018 by PERE, a market leading award voted entirely by private equity real estate industry professionals, recognizing his trusted leadership in real estate investing. He recently received “Entrepreneur of the Year” 2020 China Awards organized by Ernst & Young and “Urban Visionary Award” from Asia Society in 2019 which recognized his accomplishment in building a world-class real-estate portfolio by connecting the past to the future.
Goodwin is currently a member of ULI’s Global Board and an active member of Young
Presidents’ Organization (YPO) in Hong Kong Chapter and Intercontinental Chapter. He is also the member of the Board of Overseers of the School of Engineering and Applied Science in the University of Pennsylvania and the board member of Lawrenceville School.
Goodwin received a BS in Civil Engineering from the School of Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania, a BS in Finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and a MS in Construction Management from Stanford University.
