Although local authorities are today increasingly pro-active in tackling a range of environmental threats, a new risk has recently been added to the mix – the long-term impact of rising sea levels at the hands of climate change. With many Asian cities – not least Shanghai – located on low-lying flood plains, the panel will look at this and other resiliency challenges in a real estate context, both in China and regionally. What are the risks developers and landlords need to consider and how should they be addressed?
