Mr. Thomas C. Malayil is an experienced commercial and retail real estate executive. He started his career with a private shopping center developer in the Midwestern United States, Dial Companies. Mr. Malayil subsequently entered law school and obtained real-estate related experience at several large law firms. He returned to the commercial side and spent over a decade with one of America’s largest shopping mall companies, NYSE-listed REIT Macerich. Mr. Malayil served in various roles at Macerich concluding as Vice President, Real Estate. Before joining Lippo Karawaci as CEO of Lippo Malls Indonesia, he founded a private advisory and consultancy focused on the commercial real estate industry, TCM Property Advisory LLC. Mr. Malayil is also the Managing Director of Indo-Pacific Partners Limited, Malabar Holdings LLC and LAsia Club LLC.
Mr. Malayil holds a bachelor degree in accountancy from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University, a J.D. from the University of Oregon School of Law and M.B.A. degrees from the National University of Singapore and the Anderson School of Management at the University of California Los Angeles. Mr. Malayil is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (and serves on the Asia Pacific Advisory Board), UCLA Ziman Center for Real Estate (and serves on the Real Estate Alumni Group Board), Urban Land Institute, Asia Society of Southern California, Los Angeles World Affairs Council, Pacific Council on International Policy and Washington State Bar Association.
