Tami Ooka has been Managing Director of the Acquisition Team at Fortress Investment Group Japan since 2011. She started her career in the United States where she worked in a small boutique firm on cross border M&A and real estate acquisition deals. She joined Sumitomo Trust and Banking (currently Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank) as real estate and corporate loan officer in 1994. After advising investors on non-preforming Japanese real estate loan acquisition at the KPMG Advisory Team in Los Angeles for one year, she returned to Tokyo to set up the real estate-backed non-performing loan acquisition team at Goldman Sachs Realty in 1999. Ooka then moved to Lehman Brothers to work on sourcing and acquisition of hard assets, real estate companies and real estate debts. After the global financial crisis, she founded the Japan office of Hong Kong-based investment bank, SC Lowy, prior to joining Fortress. She has a B.A. from Aoyama Gakuin University in Tokyo.
