Sean Chiao is President, Asia Pacific, at AECOM, the premier, fully integrated infrastructure firm that designs, builds, finances and operates assets for governments, businesses and organizations in over 150 countries, with over 12,000 employees across Greater China, Southeast Asia, and Australia and New Zealand.
Sean has spearheaded award-winning urban masterplans in China, India, Malaysia and the Philippines, masterminded the 2016 publication “Jigsaw City”, and launched AECOM’s urban research and design studio program with Harvard Graduate School of Design.
He also cultivates international thought leadership and economic development as a global trustee of the Urban Land Institute, an Executive Committee member on Asia Society’s Global Council, a member of Harvard University’s Master in Design Engineering External Advisory Board, HKTDC’s Mainland Business Advisory Committee, and American Chamber of Commerce Hong Kong Board of Governors among other appointments. He is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects, with Master of Architecture qualifications from Harvard and University of California, Berkeley.
