Mr. Botjer heads Tishman Speyer’s business in China and is based in the Shanghai headquarters office, which he established in 2006. He is member of Tishman Speyer’s Global Investment Committee. Mr. Botjer joined Tishman Speyer in 2004 and was involved in the formation of Tishman Speyer Office Fund in Australia and the development of the company’s emerging markets platform.
From 1996 to 2001, Mr. Botjer lived in China, where he most recently served as chief operating officer of Asia Pacific Real Estate Ltd., which co-developed phase I of the Shanghai Racquet Club & Apartments with ING Real Estate. In that capacity, he worked on the project’s development as well as its asset management strategy.
Mr. Botjer graduated from Colgate University with a BA and received his MBA from Georgetown University.

The Great Debate - the Disruptor and the Disrupted. In this Oxford-style debate, industry speakers take opposing positions on how different real estate sectors are being disrupted. The debaters argue the motions, the moderator cross examines, we poll the audience, and the speakers try to sway opinions. It will be a fast-paced, fun, and engaging look at how the world of real estate is constantly changing, and how market leaders and innovators try to keep up. This debate looks at the office workspace.
