Michael Spies is a Venture Partner with Navitas Capital, a venture capital firm focused on technology in the real estate and construction industries. He is also founder of Fuse Strategies, LLC, an investment and advisory platform engaged in real estate and technology. Michael was a senior executive with Tishman Speyer for 30 years, most of which were spent establishing its business internationally, and was also longstanding Chair of the firm’s Investment Committee.
Michael is a former Global Governing Trustee of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), and in the past Chaired the Jury for awarding ULI’s highest honor, the Urban Land Institute Prize for Visionaries in Urban Development, and also chaired its European Sustainable Development Council, and the ULI European Charitable Trust. He currently serves on the Boards of Directors of TechnoServe, a global non-profit reducing poverty in the developing world through entrepreneurship; Equiem, a global leader in workplace experience technology; and Ingenious IO, a leading construction management software platform. He is also on the Advisory Boards of the Taubman Center in State and Local Government at the Harvard Kennedy School, and of Declaration Partners; while also engaging as an advisor with several early stage enterprises. Mr. Spies graduated cum laude from Princeton University and from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government with a Master’s degree in City and Regional Planning.
