Herman Chui currently holds the position of Director – Business Development, Mainland China. He joined Swire Properties as a management trainee in 1998, started his career in Hong Kong and has over 20 years of experience in portfolio management, property development as well as valuation. Herman participated in various Swire Properties projects in both Hong Kong and Mainland China. Between 2002 and 2005, Herman was responsible for the opening and leasing of Cambridge House office tower in Taikoo Place, Quarry Bay, he was also responsible for the portfolio management of Devon House at that time.
In 2006, he was transferred to Pacific Place retail team. In the same year, he participated in the opening of Pacific Place Link, as well as brand mix enhancement project of Star Street Precinct. In 2008, Herman was transferred to Beijing and he was appointed Assistant Director, Portfolio Management responsible for Taikoo Li Sanlitun, Beijing project. He introduced a brand new trade mix concept to Beijing city, introducing new brands such as Alexander McQueen, Comme des Garcons, Christian Louboutin, Lanvin, Balmain, etc., all of them made their debut in Beijing at Taikoo Li Sanlitun. In 2011, Herman was appointed Deputy General Manager, Sanlitun Taikoo Li, Beijing, in charge of both Sanlitun Taikoo Li North and South, Beijing.
Between 2012 and 2017, Herman was appointed General Manager, TaiKoo Hui Guangzhou. Since 2014, Herman has led the trade mix upgrade. Till end of 2017, an increased number of premium brands was introduced to TaiKoo Hui mall, including Gucci, Cartier, DOLCE&GABBANA, etc. Over 84 brands made their debut in Guangzhou, such as BOTTEGA VENETA, Roger Vivier, Loro Piana, Jo Malone, Victoria’s Secret, Grandma’s home time travel, TWG Tea, Venchi 1878, etc.
A Qualified Surveyor, Herman is a professional member of the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (HKIS) and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). He is also a committee member of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Tianhe District, Guangzhou. In 2014, Herman was honoured “Innovation Leading Talents of Tianhe District, Guangzhou” by TianHe District Government.
