Born in 1983 in Tokyo. She graduated in 2005 from Yokohama National University’s Architecture Course (Department of Construction). She received her Masters in Fine Arts and Architectural Design from Tokyo University of the Arts in 2007. She worked at “ondesign partners” from 2007~2014. She opened “Erika Nakagawa Office” in 2014, and is currently a part-time lecturer at Yokohama National University, Hosei University, Shibaura Institute of Technology and Nihon University.
Her main works are:
– “Yokohama Apartment*” (Won the JIA Newcomer Award 2011 and a special mention at the 15th Venice Biennale International Architecture Exhibition under the national category)
– “Momoyama House” (Won gold at the Residential Architecture Awards in 2017 and the 34th Yoshioka Award)
– “Tower and Onomatopoeia” (Won gold at the u-35 Architects Exhibition 2018 and the Toyo Ito Award in 2018)
