Director, Office

Don Taylor is the Global Head of Swire Properties’, 15 million sq ft, office portfolio. With 25 years’ experience in the property sector, Don oversees the design and development as well as the leasing and management of office projects in Hong Kong and Mainland China.

He is responsible for the office portfolio teams at Pacific Place, Taikoo Place, Cityplaza and Citygate, which comprises of over 200 professionals in Leasing, Property Management, Technical Services, Finance and Marketing.  He steers and contributes in significant transaction, with multinationals and reputable brand names, spanning a diverse cross-section of industries.

From now until 2022, he will lead the HK$15 billion Taikoo Place redevelopment project, which is Swire Properties’ single biggest development, transforming Taikoo Place from an already successful business community into a world class commercial hub.   He is driving the leasing of two new triple Grade-A office towers, One Taikoo Place and Two Taikoo Place spanning a total GFA of over 2 million sq ft.  He has also overseen the establishment of the sustainable development exhibition centre, ‘The Loop’ and was instrumental in the overwhelming success of the innovative accelerator and co-working space, Blueprint, as well as the unique venue for the visual and performing arts, ArtisTree.

In Mainland China, Don oversees the leasing of Swire Properties’ flagship development Taikoo Hui in Guangzhou’s Tianhe central business district completed in 2011, measuring 1.7 million sq ft. and in Shanghai, is responsible for the leasing of HKRI Centre One and HKRI Centre Two, the two triple Grade A office towers occupying 1.85 million sq ft GFA within Swire Properties’ iconic landmark development, HKRI Taikoo Hui which was completed in 2017.

Don joined Swire Properties Limited in 1991, and has served in a number of roles in Development and Valuation, Retail, Residential and Offices. A Chartered Surveyor, Don is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors.  He is also the Chairman of the Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation, a charity that provides access to high quality, non-competitive free-of-charge arts experience for all young people aged 5 to 25.
