David Buffonge is Co Founder & Executive Director of Lead 8. David is an award-winning architect and urban designer with over 20 years of experience in international architecture and urban design, his passion for shaping the built environment and awareness of the contextual influences of a location has contributed to his involvement in the design of many prominent buildings throughout Asia.
Since 2014, David has headed up Lead 8’s architecture team, focusing on large scale mixed-use developments. David’s illustrious career includes a many number of projects in the UK, Europe, Middle East and Asia, including ION Orchard & Residences, Plaza Singapura and Westgate in Singapore, Elements Mall Hong Kong and the Changi Airport Terminal 4 that was recently opened in late 2017. David’s current ongoing projects are located in Hong Kong, China and Singapore.
With his extensive experience in Retail Planning, Architecture, Urban Design, Masterplanning, High Density Vertical Mixed-Use Development, Transport Oriented Development (TOD) and Airport Terminals, David is a keen observer of changing typologies of mixed-use design, and more specifically, the effects of technology and new urban cultures on the built environment. He anticipates millennials and the impending Generation Z will cause a flux of changing cultural preferences in the coming years.
